Collaborative Research & Education

Support for an academic medical environment rich in collaborative research and educational opportunities is essential to the future growth and strength of Dartmouth medicine. Endowment is needed for degree programs, scholarships, medical research, and scientific inquiry of the highest level. Such resources provide fiscal flexibility to pursue pioneering pathways in academic and research environments that capitalize on linkages across disciplines, a hallmark of Dartmouth medicine.

The Need

To invest $58 million in creating and sustaining outstanding learning environments and research of the highest order in the study of cell and molecular biology, genetics, immunology, cardiology and cardiovascular imaging, orthopaedics, neuroscience, and more; and in joint projects with distinguished colleagues worldwide, stimulating innovative research and partnerships for learning and service. Within this goal is a $10 million endowment for scholarship, attracting and retaining leading faculty and motivated students and stimulating academic excellence across the board, from the classroom to the laboratory to the exam room and community settings.
